Frequently Asked Questions

Keep it simple! Frequently Asked Questions

I like to keep everything simple. You pay a set price and always know exactly what’s included.
There are no package options to choose from, no grey areas and no prints or obligation to buy albums.
This is different to how traditional wedding photographers structure their business so inevitably you will have some questions.
In no particular order, here are the answers to some frequently asked questions.

Please Note:

From 2018 onwards, I will be living in Australia. I’m still prepared to travel to the UK for weddings but I will be including the cost of flights. (generally £1000ish)

I’m very sorry for the inconvenience as I phase out my work in the UK.

How much is the deposit?

Due to needing to pay for flights, my deposit will be the cost of flights.

When does the balance need to be paid?

The balance of payment can be paid anytime up to the wedding. It can be paid in one payment or instalments.

Can we meet?

Yes. I usually meet up with clients at a cafe or pub but i’m also happy to visit you at home or the venue.

Do you offer albums or prints?

I don’t offer traditional wedding albums or prints. Lets face it, the big wedding albums are just a bit of a rip-off  and they’re becoming more and more obsolete. Don’t get me wrong, I still believe that you should have your photos printed but there are much cheaper and more practical alternatives to choose from. My favourite alternative is a hard cover photo book. If you really want a higher quality album and don’t want to make it yourself, I can supply this for £400 through a pro supplier.

What happens in the months leading up to the wedding?

Once you’ve booked me for your wedding there may be many months or even years before the big day comes around. The only thing you need to do in this time is keep me updated with any changes to the day. Also feel free to send any ideas. Within a few weeks of your wedding we can meet up again to talk through the day in more detail and run through timings.

Do you visit the venues?

Yes, I always visit the venues within the weeks leading up to the wedding. It’s very important for me to know where I will take you for photos and plan a few special spots to stop and shoot at. I like to do this part as close to the day as possible so that the light looks just as it will on the day.

How long will you stay?

There are no time limits or set hours. Each wedding is different but as a general rule I like to arrive earlier than necessary and stay until as late as needed. Usually this means arriving a few hours before the ceremony start time. The time I stay till is different with every wedding. As a general rule of thumb, this is roughly between 10.30-11pm but if there are still great photos to take, i’ll still be there!

Do we need to feed you?

Wedding food is always the best! I’ll never turn it down if offered and it’s very much appreciated but there is absolutely no obligation to provide for me.  I’m happy to bring my own.

How long does it take to edit the photos?

I aim to have all the photos edited and supplied on USB within two weeks of the wedding. In really busy times it may be slightly longer.

Are the photos edited?

I edit all the photos so that they appear exactly how I intended them to be. On the USB I supply both full sized versions and also smaller versions suitable for Facebook. I edit the photos into both colour and black and white versions too.

Do you offer half days or reduced coverage?

It is possible to book me for a shorter day but I will be hesitant to book a shorter day on a Saturday in the peak Summer months. I always prefer to shoot full weddings as it allows me to properly depict the whole story of the day.

We HATE having our photos taken..

Let’s be honest, everyone is a bit uncomfortable in front of the camera. But this isn’t just any old day.. this is one of the happiest days of your life and it means that you are genuinely happy and the smiles just come naturally. I’ll make you feel at ease by keeping the mood light. You can have a laugh and chat away with each other. It’s a chance to have a bit of fun and that’s when the best photos are taken.

I would like to book. What’s the process from here?

First thing we need to do is check if your date is available. After that you can decide to book straight away or we can meet up for a chat. To book me for your day, there is a simple booking form to fill out and a deposit to pay.
